This Braun's latest series 9 electric shaver has a really good looking and also really comfortable to hold, and after using it the first time I was already impressed. I do own Braun head and body hair clippers, so I’m familiar with the quality of their products and figured I would also like this Series 9 shaver. Not having used an electric shaver before, I had to go through all the instructions in detail the first time to make sure I used it correctly. I was actually halfway finished when I realized that it’s designed to be used both wet and dry, and you can also use it in the shower. Anyway, I just shave using the same gel I used before with the regular razor. One of the main benefits for me is that I don’t get the small cuts where I have small acne or bumps, which would otherwise be cut with the regular razor. I wouldn’t say it’s 100% as close of a shave as a regular razor, but it’s definitely close enough. Also, I have very coarse hair, but instead of going over my face a number of times to get a good shave (also increasing my chances of cuts!), now I can finish shaving in about half the time (including the time spent cleaning, I’d say over all it’s about the same amount of time). After using it the first time and learning a few basic things, I realized that it’s not only very simple to operate, but also to maintain. Actually, cleaning is as simple as turning it on and holding the razor head part under hot water, and then just letting it drip dry. You can quickly detach the head “foil” and use the little brush to clean underneath the head and also rinse it. When I read the instructions, I was first annoyed because I thought I had to go buy one of the auto cleaners pictured in the manual (which wasn’t in the box). As it turns out, the auto cleaner isn’t used for this 9093s model and all the cleaning is manual—so I was very happy about that!! I checked the replacement parts, and I saw that the shaver head razor foil is supposed to last about 18 months…my hair might wear it out sooner, but we’ll see. I saw online that I could get a replacement for about $65, so it’s not expensive to maintain that I can see. Overall, I’m highly satisfied and obviously continue to use my Braun products.
