Wespire® Wifi waterproof SP-22 2.0 Inch Sports Camera w/shockproof

Wespire® Wifi Waterproof Sports Camera Hd 1080p 2.0 Inch 170° Wide Angle Lens Digital Camcorder Recorder w/ Shockproof Carrying Bag (Black)

As a first time user of a high-end sports camera, I had to review a lot of information when I received the Wespire® SP-22 2.0 Inch Sports Camera.  This camera comes with a lot of useful straps and fixtures for mounting the camera to a bicycle handlebar or helmet, including others to be used in various configurations and to be mounted to anything from a surfboard to the front of a motorcycle.  I’m not really interested in those things, but I do think what’s included in the box would be perfectly fine for those applications.  My only criticism is that the strap buckles seem to be lightweight and I doubt they can handle a lot of abuse.  What I’m actually much more interested in using this for is water sports, as I enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving.  I’ve been diving for a few years and have seen many different forms of equipment used.  After inspecting this camera and equipment, what I can quickly tell you is that it will absolutely be perfectly fine using it under water at a depth not exceeding their specification of course (water resistant at a maximum depth of 30 meters).  In fact, I would recommend using it when snorkeling or diving perhaps in about 5-15 meters of water where the colors are still great (you lose color going down deeper).  Some of my favorite reefs are in this depth range and it’s much safer than doing deep dives anyway, so this will work well for me.  The battery will last up to 70 minutes, which will allow for you to capture an entire dive on video (you’ll need to get at least a 16GB micro SD card, maybe even a 32GB, which isn’t included).  The waterproof case is well designed and I was very impressed to see how tightly it seals the camera in when closing the hinged door and locking it into place.  I’m not worried at all about this thing leaking…I’ve actually used those disposable cameras with no issues at all at 15 meters, so I am highly confident this will be ok.  I considered how to mount this while diving and even checked my scuba BCD for a good spot, which I decided isn’t practical since there wouldn’t be a good way to point the camera and because it would limit your ability to move.  I decided to check the Internet for options, and then realized that Wespire also offers the Sports Camera Accessories Kit.  This kit includes a floating handgrip that you can mount the camera to.  The handgrip also has a wrist strap, which you will need when diving because you often need to use your hands for checking your computer/gages, adjusting buoyancy, etc.   So, for an extra $28 or so, I’ll be investing in that kit and then I’ll be all set for taking HD video next time I go diving!  Can’t wait, and overall I am highly satisfied with the quality of the product.
